Understanding Connections

Connections are the heart of Crowdr. When two people genuinely click during a speed dating game and both express interest, a connection is born -- opening the door to a real conversation with no time limits.

How Connections Are Created

A connection happens when both you and another person vote YES for each other during a game. This is called a mutual vote. Here's how it works:

  1. You chat with someone during a 40-second round.
  2. After the round, you vote YES on them.
  3. They also vote YES on you.
  4. Once the game's reveal phase ends, the mutual vote is detected and you're connected.

If only one person votes YES and the other votes NO, no connection is created. Connecting is always a two-way street.

Where to Find Your Connections

All your connections live in the Messages tab at the bottom of the app. After a game ends:

  • New connections appear at the top of the list with a "New" badge so they're easy to spot.
  • Connections are sorted by most recent activity.
  • Tap any connection to open the conversation and start chatting.

What You Can Do with a Connection

Once you're connected with someone, you can:

  • Send unlimited messages -- no character limits, no timers.
  • View their full profile -- photos, bio, age, interests, and location.
  • Pick up where you left off -- the messages you exchanged during the game round are saved and visible in the conversation history.

Connections Are Permanent

Your connections stick around for as long as you want them to. A connection is only removed if:

  • You disconnect the person (see Disconnecting a User).
  • The other person disconnects you.
  • An account is deleted by either party.

You'll never lose a connection just because time has passed or because you haven't messaged in a while.

Connections from Likes (Premium)

In addition to game-based connections, Crowdr Premium subscribers can also get connections through the Likes feature. When someone likes your profile and you like them back, it creates a connection -- even outside of a game session.

Tips

  • Check your Messages tab after every game -- you might have new connections waiting.
  • Send the first message -- don't wait! The sooner you reach out, the fresher the connection feels.
  • Reference your game conversation -- mentioning something from your 40-second chat shows you were paying attention and makes for a natural conversation opener.
