Disconnecting a User

Sometimes a connection doesn't work out, and that's completely okay. Crowdr makes it easy to disconnect someone when you're ready to move on.

How to Disconnect

  1. Open the Messages tab and tap into the conversation with the person you'd like to disconnect.
  2. Tap the menu icon (usually in the top-right corner of the conversation screen).
  3. Select "Disconnect" from the options.
  4. Confirm your choice when prompted.

That's it. The process takes just a few taps.

What Happens When You Disconnect

When you disconnect someone:

  • The conversation is removed from both your Messages tab and theirs.
  • Chat history is deleted for both parties -- neither of you will be able to access past messages.
  • The other person is not notified. They won't receive an alert or message telling them you disconnected. The conversation will simply disappear from their list.
  • You won't be connected again with this person in future games.

Disconnecting vs. Blocking

Crowdr offers both Disconnect and Block options. Here's the difference:

Action What It Does
Disconnect Removes the connection and conversation. You could theoretically encounter this person again in other contexts.
Block Removes the connection and prevents the person from appearing in your games, queue, or anywhere else in the app. They won't know they've been blocked.

If someone is making you uncomfortable or behaving inappropriately, blocking is the stronger option. You can also combine it with a report.

Reporting Before Disconnecting

If the reason you're disconnecting is because of inappropriate behavior, harassment, or any violation of community guidelines, we strongly encourage you to report the user first:

  1. Open the conversation.
  2. Tap the menu icon.
  3. Select "Report".
  4. Choose a reason and provide any additional details.
  5. After reporting, you can then disconnect or block.

Reports are reviewed by our team and help us keep Crowdr safe for everyone. For more information, see our Safety & Privacy articles.

Can I Undo a Disconnect?

No. Disconnecting is permanent. Once you disconnect someone, the connection and conversation cannot be restored. Make sure you're certain before confirming.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the other person know I disconnected them? No. They will not receive any notification. The conversation will simply no longer appear in their Messages tab.

Can I reconnect with someone I disconnected? No. Once you've disconnected someone, you will not be paired with them again in future games.

What if someone disconnected me? If a conversation disappears from your Messages tab without explanation, the other person likely disconnected you. This is normal and part of the dating process -- don't take it personally.

Does disconnecting affect my account in any way? No. Disconnecting is a normal part of using the app and has no impact on your account standing, queue priority, or future connections.
