Setting Up Your Profile

After signing in with Apple, you'll walk through a quick 8-step onboarding process to build your profile. This is what other players will see during speed dating rounds, so take a moment to make it shine. Don't worry -- you can always edit everything later.

The 8 Onboarding Steps

Step 1: Your Name

Enter your first name as you'd like it displayed to other users. This is the name people will see during games and in conversations. Keep it real -- authenticity goes a long way.

Step 2: Date of Birth

Enter your date of birth to verify your age. You must be 18 or older to use Crowdr. Your exact birthday isn't shown to others -- only your calculated age appears on your profile.

Tip: Double-check this before continuing. Your date of birth cannot be changed later, and your displayed age is calculated from it automatically.

Step 3: Gender

Select your gender: Male or Female. This is used for game placement -- Crowdr lobbies are balanced with 5 men and 5 women to ensure everyone gets an equal experience.

Step 4: Bio

Write a short bio about yourself in up to 300 characters. This is your chance to let your personality come through.

Tips for a great bio:

  • Mention a hobby or passion that sparks conversation.
  • Keep it lighthearted and conversational.
  • Avoid generic phrases like "just ask me" -- give people something to work with!
  • A little humor goes a long way.

Step 5: Photos

Upload your profile photos. You need at least 1 photo to continue, and you can add up to 6. Your first photo becomes your main profile picture.

Photo tips:

  • Lead with a clear, well-lit photo of your face.
  • Include a mix of close-ups and full-body shots.
  • Show yourself doing things you enjoy.
  • Avoid heavy filters -- people want to see the real you.

Supported formats: JPEG, PNG, WebP, and HEIC. Maximum file size is 10 MB per photo.

Step 6: Interests

Pick your interests from a curated list. These show up on your profile card during games and help other players find common ground with you quickly.

Tip: Choose interests that genuinely reflect you. They're great conversation starters during those fast-paced 40-second rounds!

Step 7: Location

Allow location access so Crowdr can determine your city and region. This is used to show your location on your profile and to display relevant game schedules for your timezone.

Tip: Make sure to tap "Allow" when the location permission prompt appears. You can always update your location later in your profile settings.

After Onboarding

Once you've completed all the steps, you'll land on the Home screen where you can see upcoming game times, explore the Spark Lounge, and jump into the queue when a session is live.

Can I Change Things Later?

Absolutely. Everything you entered during onboarding -- your name, bio, photos, interests, and location -- can be updated anytime from the Profile tab. The only exception is your date of birth, which is locked after onboarding.
